Home But Not Alone

This is the second day in a row where my best laid plans have been derailed by a sick child. I have two girls aged 12 (AdornedOne) and 9 (BrightSpark). BrightSpark is complaining of stomach pain but in a very non-specific way, so she has been off school for the past couple of days - 'resting'!

I'm the one who is going stir crazy - my apartment is clean, my Christmas cards and parcels for overseas are organised, my Blog is started, my ironing is up to date - everything I can do without leaving the flat has been done.

AdornedOne will bring herself home after school - 2 trains from school to home, a total of about 25 minutes when everything connects properly, so I have no reason to go out today and I don't like to leave BrightSpark alone anyway.

So I guess I'll start knitting my new scarf or maybe I'll bake a cake or perhaps I'll just read my book - yeah, there's still a lot to keep me busy even if it's not all the things I had planned to do outside the flat today.

Oh, I put the photo in just to see if I could put photos into my Blog - it's the railing on the public staircase inside our apartment building - I think it's rather lovely.
